Beyonce Reaches Settlement Over Video Lawsuit

BNBeyonce has settled her legal beef with a California man.  Philip Markowitz tells TMZ.com that he received a five-figure settlement to drop his lawsuit against the singer and her production company.  Markowitz filed suit back in May, claiming Beyonce and her crew trespassed onto his Hollywood Hills property while shooting the video for her song “Why Don’t You Love Me.”  Markowitz says he’s happy with the settlement, but notes, quote, “this lawsuit shouldn’t have happened in the first place.”  He adds, quote, “They set up on my property without asking and [the settlement] should send a notice to other production companies that they need to respect the rights of property owners.”

“Why Don’t You Love Me” is featured on Beyonce’s “I Am…Sasha Fierce” album.  The record has sold nearly three-million copies in the United States since its release in 2008.
