Chris Robinson Not A Taylor Swift Fan

CRWhile Taylor Swift has lots of fans, The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson isn’t among them.  The singer tells “Nylon Guys” magazine he’s not at all impressed with the 20-year-old country-pop crossover star, and doesn’t understand — or like — how much she’s praised.  He doesn’t mince words as he states, quote, “I find it embarrassing that adults are like, ‘Taylor Swift is very talented.’  She’s not.  She might be cute, but she’s horrible.”  Robinson also admits there are very few modern stars he likes, claiming fans aren’t seeing an artist but an image.  He explains, quote, “They have stylists who dress them, they make records with producers who play a chord into the computer and it all comes out the same.”  The rocker adds, quote, “When you have computers doing it all for you…there’s no individuality.  Singing isn’t always about being on key; it’s about emotionality.”

The Black Crowes have been looking back on their tumultuous two-decade career this year, with last month’s arrival of the retrospective set “Croweology,” which features acoustic renditions of their hits, and the “20 Years of Tall Tales” webisode series.  The Black Crowes are currently on their “Goodbye to the Bad Guys” tour, and will be performing in Charleston, South Carolina on Friday.  This weekend the band will be honored by their home state of Georgia.  The Black Crowes will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in a ceremony in North Atlanta on Saturday.
