Iron Maiden will reportedly get a “Bali Hai” early next year. Indonesia’s “The Jakarta Post” says the rockers will perform in Jakarta and Bali in February 2011. The newspaper quotes local promoter Tommy Pratama, who says the band has confirmed the Asian gigs. The report follow comments that Iron Maiden’s manager Rod Smallwood made recently to “The New York Times” about the metal group’s global appeal. Smallwood said, quote, “A lot of bands could learn a lot from Maiden. Maiden is essentially about the relationship with the fans, and nothing comes between that. They don’t want to be rock stars. They just enjoy playing for the fans.”
Smallwood added that over 800-thousand units of “The Final Frontier,” Maiden’s current album, had shipped to retailers around the world by the end of August. Iron Maiden’s sold an estimated 85-million albums throughout its multi-decade career.
