A majority of Americans think the current health care reform bill circulating through Congress will hurt the country’s financial well-being.  According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll, 57-percent believe the plan will harm the economy, and 66-percent are concerned that it will add to the federal deficit.  Nearly 80-percent anticipate that a tax increase will be needed to fund the plan.  The financial fears coincide with skepticism over the government’s cost estimates for the proposed program.  More than 80-percent believe Washington has underestimated what will be needed to fund the plan, while only ten-percent think the projected price tag is higher than what it will actually cost.  In addition, just a quarter of respondents think the proposed health care plan will bolster the economy and only ten-percent foresee the plan helping to reduce the national debt.
