It may not be the original four, but Gavin Rossdale is confident that the current lineup of Bush will represent well. After the band split in the early part of the decade, Rossdale tried various other projects, but says reclaiming the Bush name just makes sense. He tells Billboard.com the entire time he was away from the band, quote, “I was thinking, ‘Why is this not Bush?’ This is so crazy.’ I’m so pleased because I’ve got my voice back. To be in Bush, the band you’re basically born to be in, it’s like a suit of armor. It’s very exciting.”
Rossdale says the new Bush album, titled “Everything Always Now,” will be heavy, though he was conscious to keep the material fresh. He explains, quote, “It’s tricky because you want the band to evolve and you want to make songs that people really care about, but you also don’t want to repeat yourself. I was mindful of that.” Rossdale adds, quote, “My musical vocabulary is better all the time…I get better at playing guitar. I think this is the best I’ve ever sung, so I want the record to reflect that.” Though a firm release hasn’t been set, Bush is eyeing an October release. Rossdale also hinted that an EP may precede the album to build the buzz for the record. He added that Bush may play some festival dates and scattered shows during the fall, but he expects the group to focus on touring early next year.
